For cremations and burials within a thirty mile radius of my home base my standard fees are £230. This includes travel expenses to a family meeting with the bereaved and to the crematorium or burial ground on the day of the funeral. Where the funeral is being organised by a funeral director they usually pay my fees and include them in a final invoice to the next of kin, but that doesn’t alter the fact that the next of kin are my employer. You can pay me direct if you prefer, but in this case I require payment before the funeral service. If the person that died had a funeral plan then you should check with the funeral director to make sure the celebrant’s fees are covered by it and that you don’t have to pay extra.
I am happy to travel all over the UK and overseas to conduct all kinds of funeral and memorial services and also to attend wakes and receptions and lead reminiscence sessions. Fees and expenses for these services are negotiable and are always agreed with the client in advance.
